Well, why not? We're a two-person crew of writers, researchers, editors, online publishers, mortgage and investment counselors. Not bad for just two people, hmmm? These are our ramblings and we hope you find them relatively more exciting than our work. No, we're kidding, we LOVE the work! (But we do miss the steady paychecks *wistful sighs* ) Anyway, enjoy and look us up sometime at http://www.scribesunlimited.com

What IS it about Sagbama Express Road?!

Amazing. We just rec'd an email from someone named Nwaokorh Adams, a barrister in England, contacting us because of some horrible car crash that took the life of Thomas Richard, his wife and their three children on a stretch of road in Nigeria called Sagbama Express Road.

Well, we were curious about the accident, and looked up "Sagbama Express Road" on the internet, and boy were we shocked! So far, we can record at least THIRTY traffic fatalities on this road in the past YEAR, gang! A brief list of notables follows:

Pitts Roberts and his only daughter died on it.
Engineer Terry Thomas died on it solo.
So did:
Mr. Patrick Sr. (whoever HE is)
Mr. Michael Creek
Luis Garratt
Jim Sun
Mr. Jenson
Daniel A. Flatt
Mr. Cooney
Mr. Frederick Herzog
Mr. Harrison Mitchell
Mr. Paul Tate
Mr. Patrick S. Gresham
Mr. Alan Donohue
Mr. Kenneth Giggs
Engineer A. Boele
Engr. Alfred Hoffmann
Mr. Mark Jensen
Eng. Mark Lord
Mr. Geoffrey
Mr. Mark Bishop
and Mack Caunt (with poor cousin Mike Hunt riding along, no doubt)

Outrageous! We've never heard of such a bad road in our lives! How does Nigeria sleep at night knowing that Sagbama Express Road is such a death-trap!? We mean, really, Cleveland's Dead Man's Curve out on Interstate 90 isn't even this bad, geeez!

This is certainly a matter that should be brought before the consulate or the DOT division in Nigeria.

Maybe they can patch up the potholes, get some of those guardrails replaced, maybe shoo away a few wildlife that meander aimlessly around, or SOMETHING. Then again, it could be the make of car. Maybe Ford or GM or Mercedez Benz should consider a recall of their vehicles; it certainly sounds like something might be going hellaciously wrong with them in Nigeria. Or it could be cannibal tribes living in Nigeria incognito, and they come out at night to feast on any wandering motorists passing by, steal their cars, then run them off the expressway to make it look like an accident. Of course, no current coroner reports have authenticated documentation of such a vile desecration as mastication of the flesh, but you never really know with Nigeria!

They have car crashes, bus crashes, airline crashes, collapsed bridges, rebellious uprisings, rampant viruses and diseases, bomb blasts, earthquakes, tsunamis and several have suffered questionable and unexplained strokes and heart attacks apparently after winning lotteries of some sort.

This is a VERY, VERY dangerous country, this Nigeria!

We must plead to the Nigerian consulate to consider doing SOMETHING to make this country more safe. No wonder we've got so many Nigerian scams! So many people in that country are trying to make enough money to get the hell OUT of there!

So anyway, we sent the poor barrister almost this same reply ver batim, and surprisingly we've not heard back from Mr. Adams yet. We're hoping he does get in contact with us soon, though.

Like he said in his email, this is a matter of extreme urgency. The fate of many a Nigerian could rest in his answers.

Now you can add Micheal Matters do the list of people who died on the Sagbama express road.

Along with his wife and their two children.

He died 19th of April 2003.

Could there have been a massive car crash on that day?? :)

Add also Michael Popescu with wife and three children.

I've got an e-mail from somebody called ADVOCATE HARMEN ZEVEN from Republic of Benin who informed me that a "relative" of mine Michael Popescu died in that accident and I am the "next in kin". I have never had such a relative, at least not with an English name and, besides she pretends she "googled" me.Considering there are at least 5 mil people in Romania with this name, you can count the possibilities.

This is an obviously phishing attempt, don't believe it.
